GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac 6.2L Engine Defect and Sudden Deceleration – Class Action Investigation

June 7, 2024 by

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against Detroit-based automaker General Motors (“GM”) relating to an alleged engine defect in certain model and model year GM vehicles.

Public reports and consumer complaints indicate that certain GM vehicles equipped with a 6.2L engine have experienced engine failure, including mid-drive, that causes the engine to suddenly lose power and can result in affected vehicles experiencing sudden and rapid deceleration. Numerous complaints have been made online including on GM and GM-related message boards and on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website claiming that drivers will suddenly experience the engine failure and numerous lights will illuminate on the dashboard while traveling at high speeds. This issue presents an obvious safety defect and hazard for impacted vehicle drivers, passengers, and other drivers on the road as it creates the risk of rear-end collisions.

Our investigation to date has revealed that at least the following vehicles may be impacted by the engine defect:

  • 2019-2024 GMC Yukons
  • 2019-2024 Chevrolet Tahoes
  • 2019-2024 Cadillac Escalades

If you own or lease any of the above GM vehicles and have experienced engine failure, please fill out the form below and our firm promptly will contact you for a free consultation.
