Forever 21 Data Breach – Class Action Investigation
Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a class action lawsuit against clothing company Forever 21 after it announced that a data breach earlier in the year affects more than half a million individuals.
In a data breach notice filed with state authorities, Forever 21 acknowledged it was hacked over a three-month period between January 5, 2023, and March 21, 2023, during which intruders had intermittent access to and obtained files from its servers. According to the notice, Forever 21 notified 539,207 people that the breached data included their name, date of birth, bank account number, and Social Security number, as well as information regarding employees’ Forever21 health plan, including enrollment and premiums paid.
Forever 21’s failure to protect sensitive information may violate state and federal laws, including privacy laws.
