Bank and Credit Union Multiple Overdraft Fees – Class Action Investigation

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating class action lawsuits against credit unions and banks following reports that certain banking institutions improperly charge multiple Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) fees (also known as overdraft fees) on a single transaction. Despite that banks’ and credit unions’ contracts typically only permit charging one overdraft fee per overdraft, reports indicate that numerous banks and credit unions charge subsequent overdraft fees relating to the same transaction.

This conduct of charging multiple overdraft fees may violate banks contracts with accountholders, consumer protection laws, and other laws other laws.
